| Greenwood Center, a Medicare and Medicaid certified facility, has been providing quality nursing care in Maine for over 30 years. Greenwood Center was established in 1976 as a 31-bed nursing home located in a farm house in Lebanon, Maine. In 1987, we moved into a brand new facility in Sanford which now serves 86 residents. Our facility is a sunny, two-story brick building situated in a residential neighborhood.
Greenwood Center is proud to have been voted by the Sanford and Springvale communities as the Best Nursing Care Facility in the area since 1999 by Market Surveys of America. We attribute our solid reputation to an enthusiastic staff, high quality care, and the variety of services we offer.
- Since 1976, Greenwood Center has served those who require 24-hr long-term nursing care.
- We began offering skilled nursing care in 1993. We have since developed our expertise in the area of skilled rehabilitation. Over 40% of our admissions return to the community.
- We provide end of life hospice care for terminally ill residents who are looking for comfort care, emotional support and the involvement of family and friends throughout the dying process.
- We also offer respite care services to temporarily relieve families of their care-giving role.
Surrounding communities are a big part of the daily life at Greenwood Center, providing church services, musical programs, elderly exercise classes, and volunteers. In return, we open our Community Room to various local groups and organizations. |
